  1. With a hook 5mm I think the weight of 4 ply wool weight is good. It is based on the average weight, combined with a hook medium.
It's really simple, weight wool with a hook, used maybe 6 or 7 mm. Then the thread is a little thicker, but the hook is even greater.

Good luck and welcome to the hook.

  2. I also had problems with the weight of the Son of wool and hooks than 5 mm. I found that the thread called "Thick and fast" with a hook size K, a 6.5 mm hook love. I is easier to understand.

If your son, do not try to use a color that is as black or dark navy, because they are more difficult to get points on the ground and on.

I hope this helps you remember to use www.lionbrandyarn.com for further instructions and tons of free patterns.

    Good luck!

  3. I've learned to crochet, 45 years ago, with fine cotton and No. 10 is a hook. I think if you consult a book if you are having a problem, his weight in gold. You should at your local library. They have a large selection of books and samples. If you find one you like, you can get into a bookstore. Do not give up! BTW, if you are tired or when you make mistakes and get frustrated. Good luck!

  5. I like to work with the weight of wool (4 levels).
    Try a hook size J

I think if I do, it was easier to get started with this thread it was nice to (Baby, sport) or thread.
The hook size should be adjusted to suit your taste. Some people have told me a hook size H with a weight of wool, but I must be convenient for the use of a J.
If you do not make the clothes, the display can not be adjusted - this is just how much thread is used for what they did. Suppose that an Afghan, you can more or less depending on how you want to use and what size hooks. The fact that does not imply a recommended standard H, you must use this size. I think it is difficult to grasp the wire with an H hook, as I do.
